Now that Trump is president again, and with Project 2025 very much likely to become a reality in our lives, it’s important for adult content creators to be mindful about protecting themselves and their assets from government’s prying hands. Our rights under the First Amendment are under attack, once again.
With that reality in mind, one way you can protect yourself is by blocking access to your adult website from states that already have access laws in place. Some states, such as Texas and Kansas have already begin suing porn site providers. Even though this is likely an early shot across the bow, so to speak, there is an easy way to head them off at the pass, should that become needed.
This firewall rule will instantly block your site from any state you choose. The code below is already configured to include the states with access laws in place. The states listed in these codes are Louisiana Utah Montana North Carolina Idaho Kansas Kentucky Nebraska Indiana Alabama Oklahoma Florida South Carolina Tennessee and Georgia. This code is for Cloudflare, but should work for any firewall. In Cloudflare, open your WAF in Security, and create a new rule. Give it a name and click to edit the raw expression. Then paste in the codes below.
(ip.src.region_code eq “AL”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “AK”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “FL”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “GA”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “ID”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “IN”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “KS”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “LA”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “MS”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “MO”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “NE”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “NC”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “OK”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “TX”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “UT”) or (ip.src.region_code eq “VA”)
Now set your action to “Block” and order “First” and save the rule.
You can see by looking at the code that you’ll be able to easily add and/or removes states as needed. Hopefully this will help you protect yourself a little better over the next four years.
Best of luck.
Dave.
